As humans we were created by God to enjoy a full and complete life in relationship with Him. However, because of our sin (our selfish choices and actions) we are separated from God. But God, in his mercy, sent his Son Jesus to earth. He lived a perfect, sinless life and yet was given a death sentence. Jesus' death on a cross and miraculous resurrection became the bridge which allows us access back to God. By trusting in Jesus Christ's life, death and resurrection you can know complete and unconditional forgiveness for your sins and enter back into fellowship with God. God also promises us the gift of his Holy Spirit who will live in us to teach,comfort and provide spiritual insight to help us through our daily lives. There is no miraculous formula, special class or ceremony that "saves" you or makes you a Christian. It is simply a choice, an attitude of the heart that can be expressed by praying to God like this:

"Dear God, I know that my sins have separated me from you. I ask that you forgive me for my sins. I trust in Jesus' death and resurrection as payment for my sins. Please come into my heart. I give you my life in gratitude for saving me. Help me to live in a way that's pleasing to you. Thank you for your Holy Spirit who has drawn me to you and will teach me to love you better. Thank you for my salvation. Amen"
