A NOTE FROM PASTOR GENE

I believe church should be the most alive and relevant place on earth. It should be a place where people know your name; a happy, friendly place. I believe it should be a place where you can come just as you are. The Bible says God looks at our heart, not our outward appearance. Therefore, people shouldn't have to wear uncomfortable or expensive clothing to church unless that is their preference.

A church should be a place where you discover that God really does love you. That He is a merciful God, and a God of forgiveness. Church should reflect the fact that God is not mad at anybody. HE LOVES YOU!!! He hates SIN!

Church shouldn't be boring. I can guarantee you that it won't be at Southside Christian Center. It will be a place where you can come expecting to hear what the Bible has to say about the daily issues and struggles that we all deal with. This will be a place where your heart will be touched by God in an atmosphere of love and acceptance.
